Commercial Building Roof Fire

The Merion Fire Company responded to a fire at Bella Itala restaurant this afternoon at 12 East Lancaster Ave. Firefighters made quick work of a fire at the roof level under the facade.

120th ANNUAL MFCA BANQUET

Recently, MFC held its 120th Annual Banquet at The Merion Cricket Club. A special thank you to the Thomas Hays Fund who generously funded scholarships to our student firefighters Matt and Steve Hand, Tom Hayden, Glenn Montgomery, Will Neely and Chris Cannazzi all received money towards their college education.

The following awards were handed out to our Brigade Members.

Five Year Service Award: Mark Stillwagon
Fifteen Year Service Award: Andy Block
Firefighter of the Year Award: Harry Hicks (10,000 + fire calls)
Meritarious Service Award: Given by the Merion Fire Company of Ardmore to Chief Tom Hayden for his rescue in January.


Congratulations to all award recipients and a special thanks to all the members who have served this past year

Residential Fire

The third call of the day Ardmore firefighters assisted the Bryn Mawr Fire Company with a fire in the wall at 1500 Willowbrook Road in Villanova. Firefighters opened the wall and quickly put the fire out.

The 2nd call of the day Ardmore firefighters handled a smoking micowave in a 2nd floor apartment at 39 West Lancaster Ave.

Members of the Merion Fire Company participated in the POLICE OPEN HOUSE today at the Lower Merion Public Safety building.

Ardmore Assists Bryn Mawr With House Fire

The Merion Fire Company of Ardmore assisted the Bryn Mawr Fire Company on a working house fire at 1026 Rees Ave last evening. Firefighters went into service making a quick knock down on a fire on the 2nd floor and attic. A hand line was also stretched to the 3rd floor of the exposer house. Companies were in service for about 90 minutes.

Training Night at County Fire Academy

Members had the opportunity to train at the Montgomery County Public Safety Training Complex.

Chief Hayden Receives Award

Chief Tom Hayden received an award of Heroism Award from the Lower Merion Township Board of Commissioners. Chief Hayden was first on scene for a working apartment fire in January, when a tenant came out yelling that there was a trapped person inside one of the apartments.
