Full Company Dispatch

The Merion Fire Company was dispatched with a full company as part of a "General Alarm" fire at Bala Plaza One in Bala Cynwyd. Ardmore firefighters went into service of floors 5 & 6 to check condition and make sure all occupants were out safely. Lower Merion firefighters led by "Bala Command" quickly controlled a fire that extended from the first floor to the roof via a ventilation shaft. Our station was covered by Engine 35-1 & Qunit 15. This was the sixth call of the day for Ardmore.

Chamber of Commerce Scholarships

On Tuesday night, June the 11th, twenty four volunteer firefighters/emergency medical technicians who are attending college were awarded scholarships by the Main Line Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Thirty-nine thousand dollars in scholarships were awarded, with two firefighter/EMTs receiving $3000.00 scholarships in the Memory of Ardmore Firefighter Tom Hayes. Thank You to to the Main Line Chamber of Commerce Foundation for their continued support of the volunteer Fire Service on the Main Line.

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation contribution

On Saturday June 11th, Members of the Merion Fire Company went to the Penn Wynn School to the Alex's Lemonade Event to present a contribution check to the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation which supports cancer research and treatment.

Mulch Fire

Ardmore firefighters responded to a mulch fire in the 100 block of Glen Road shortly after 9:00AM. The fire was right next to the home.
