Three people were injured in a Thursday morning fire in the Overbrook Hills section of Wynnewood Thursday morning.
The fire occurred at about 6:48 a.m. on the 100 block of Beverly Road in a two-story twin house, according to the Lower Merion Fire Chief Charles McGarvey. The building was evacuated and cleared shortly after crews arrived and the fire was under control in about 30 minutes. One civilian and two firefighters were injured fighting the blaze, with one firefighter being taken to a hospital for evaluation, McGarvey said.
The building sustained significant fire damage in the basement of one unit and the other unit sustained smoke damage, McGarvey said. He said the cause of the fire appears to be electrical.
The seven fire companies responding were back in service by about 8:27 a.m.,
