| NEW M.S.A. AIRPACKS |
| Date: |
11/6/06 |
Recently the Lower Merion Township Relief Association purchased brand new M.S.A 4500 psi ( high pressure) S.C.B.A.'s for six of the fire companies. These packs have been redesigned with safety and technology in mind. The frames can now be used to assist if needed in rescueing down firefighters. While the masks have been implemented with "blue tooth" technology. In addition the belts have been equipped with a 50-75 ft Kevlar rescue rope with rappelling hardware for bail outs. The "blue tooth" technology warns the fire fighter of their air supply at 3/4, 1/2 and 1/4 of a tank, by small lights in their face masks. Training has been going on for a couple of weeks now and the new packs plan to be in service sometime soon.
